Professional experience

  • Since August 2003 and ongoing: Head of Research, Institute of Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM), University of Basel, Switzerland
  • Matthias is also Head of the Medical Economics Unit at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute of the University of Zürich, Switzerland, since 2010. He is a member of the Steering Committee (Studienleitung) of the Postgraduate Programme in Public Health of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zürich. He received the venia legendi in the field of "Health Economics – Public Health" from the Medical Faculty of the University of Zürich, in November 2009, and was awarded the title of Professor (Titularprofessor) in July 2016.
